Strictly speaking, not one of the love note project photos... This is the "please submit something to the project" photo.
Let Go or be Dragged
The first love note! Submitted by Jenny Lynn Keller.
Beauty, Smiles, and Knowledge
Second love note. "The most beautiful thing a woman can wear is her smile. The most beautiful thing she can share is her knowledge." Submitted by Erin.
I Got You
Love note number three. "I got you." Submitted by Janine Serio Durso, who told me, "This is what I say softly to my 2 year old as we hug each other tight. I want her to know that I am always here for her and always have her back. If I'm sitting on the floor, sometimes she'll surprise me and jump into my lap, wrap her little arms around my neck so tight and whisper "i got you, i got you." in my ear. Makes my heart melt every time.” I love this so much.
Love Always Wins
“Love always wins.” Love note number four, submitted by Leann.
Today’s love note is for my friend Nicole, a.k.a. @nicolemariemil She didn’t submit it but I did it on her behalf. (Nicole, this doesn’t mean you can’t still submit your own!!) These are the five pillars of Baptiste Yoga.
New Life. Chapter One.
This one is for my friend Helena, a.k.a. @chineseliaison
Good enough. Perfection.
Love note number six, submitted by Tracy Jones. This phrase seemed to be begging for some dip-pen calligraphy so voila!
Ah, open wide your wild heart! LOVE IT!
Love note #10 is from Rachael, whose phrase has really stuck with me ever since she first submitted it about a week ago. I tried lettering it a bit wilder at first, but for some reason this tidier version seemed like the right one. A little contrast with the subject matter I guess? If I get a chance in the next few weeks I’ll try to post the wild version, too.
Decided to go a little bit edgier today after the super smooth “it’ll be fine” love note from earlier this week. Love note number 9 is from Sherise: Your name is all you have.
It'll be Fine
Love note number 8 comes to you from Jill, who told me, “One day I was driving somewhere, all worried and stressed out, and pulled up behind a car with the vanity plate ITLBFIN. It was the most perfect timing. I often think of that car and saying.” I had fun with this one.
I'm Rotting For You
Wrapping up the end of week three with love note number twelve, which comes to us from Elizabeth.
My apologies for only getting to two love letters this week. It was a craaaaazy week around here. Maybw I'll sneak in an extra or two for you next week...
Love note number eleven is from Bernadette McNamara, a.k.a. @LusaRed // I did this one with my most favorite brush pen on the planet, which I only have right now in gray, and it’s a little dry. But I like the contrast between the simple phrase, the swirly letters, and the dry brush.
Woobies Make the World Go 'Round
I got this love note via text from my friend Dawn. We were pregnant together, and then she went on to have THREE MORE! So in her house, woobies really do make the world go 'round!
Light a Candle
Love note number 14 is from Anita. File this under good ones to remember.
Submitted anonymously: I'm out. I wish I knew the story behind this one. My brain keeps cooking up all kinds of possible stories for it.
Number sixteen is #radAF. Heh heh. Get it? It was submitted anonymously (I know who submitted it but I’ll never tell). I’m just going to have to try to remember to keep my son off instagram for the next few days so he doesn’t ask me about this one.
Love note number 17, Persist, was submitted anonymously.
Number twenty! And it's a good one. This love note comes from Amy Rau.
Love note number 19 comes from my friend Jenny Wellington, a.k.a. 7thchicken.
Listen to that little voice
Love note number 21 was submitted by Mary. I couldn't agree more.
Love with No Regret
Love note number 22 was submitted by Sara.
Love note number 23 was submitted anonymously. I definitely dig the sentiment!
Four Letter Word
Love note number 24 was submitted by my friend Jackie Mangiolino. We were walking up 10th Avenue in New York, chatting about my love note project, and she said that she hadn’t submitted anything because all her most common phrases are four letter words. Then she said, “Maybe mine should be ‘four letter word.’” GENIUS!
Don't Fight the Love
Love note number 26, “don’t fight the love,” was submitted anonymously.
I Am Enough
Love note number 25 comes from Lindsay.
Not the Mountain
Love note number 28 is from Lea Delaveris, a.k.a. lea_d_design.
This is the very last of the love notes, and the end of the project is definitely bittersweet for me. When I committed to 100 days I was a little worried that I’d get bored of the project, or overwhelmed, or, my biggest fear, that no one would submit anything for me. I’ll admit I was hoping to pen a proposal or something crazy like that. Maybe I’ll have to do it again sometime. :)
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED, and to everyone who told me publicly and privately how much you enjoyed seeing all of the phrases. I know I enjoyed drawing them.
